On Nov. 20, Consul-General of Japan Yasunori Nakayama attended the demonstration of the hybrid solar inverter and battery system launched jointly by the City of Oshawa, Oshawa Power and Utilities Corporation and Japan’s New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO).
The event began with a ribbon cutting ceremony at a home where the system has been installed. The owners of the home switched on the system, and those in attendance celebrated its activation.
Afterwards, Consul-General Nakayama offered words of congratulations for the successful start to the demonstration. He also said it was a source of great pride that the technology of Tabuchi Electric, one of the world’s top manufacturers on inverters, contributed greatly to this timely initiative in which renewable energy is used in an outage resilient smart system. He added that the fact this system had been produced through the cooperation between Oshawa Power and Utilities Corporation and Tabuchi Electric held great significance in the relationship between our two countries. He said the Consulate-General of Japan would like to do what it can to support this project, in the hope that the mutually supportive relationship Japan and Canada will develop even further.
