Visit with Ontario Minister of Energy Chris Bentley
On November 21st, 2012 Consul-General Yamamoto met with Ontario Minister of Energy, Chris Bentley and discussed topics such as the Economic Partnership Agreement negotiations between Japan and Canada that have recently been initiated, as well as energy related policies between the two countries.
Consul-General Yamamoto noted that there are roughly 240 Japan related companies based in Ontario that contribute greatly to the provinces economy and long-term employment for Ontarians. In regards to the recent developments in energy sector collaborations, Minister Bentley anticipates that there will be more expansion in trade and investment between Canada and Japan which the Ontario government would support.
