On June 21, Consul-General of Japan Takako Ito attended and gave remarks at the Artist Talk for the Signs of the Intangible Exhibit held at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre from May 15 to June 27. This exhibit showcases the acclaimed photographer and filmmaker Miro Ito’s depiction of Buddhist statues and Gigaku masks of Todaiji Temple, Bugaku masks of Kasuga Taisha Shrine and more, all under the theme “Bodyscapes Reflecting Japan's 1400 Years of Performing and Martial Arts”. During the event, in addition to the lecture by Ms. Ito, her short videos on Gigaku and Gigaku masks were screened.  As well, a Gigaku ballet was performed by Mr. Shunso Arai.  The exhibit and Artist Talk were official commemorative events of the 90th anniversary of Japan-Canada diplomatic relations.
